Week 1 - No hat required...Agi is free ^_^

This past Tuesday I finally ditched the hat and rock my natural. I was over the shock however I failed to realized how shocked others would be. It's going to be a long couple of weeks - keep bumping into people that haven't seen the new cut yet.

Some new things I've learned about my hair
- handle we care - it's my baby, even gave it a name - Agi (means baby in Korean 아기)
- loves coconut - using coconut oil daily and a homemade protien conditioner with coconut oil, coconut cream and yogurt (will use this monthly) - amazing stuff...Agi's super soft and shinny
- it's a hand magnet - don't know why but I'm always feeling the curls - trying to break myself of the annoying habit - makes hair dry and frizzy

My next step is to start taking pictures to fully document the journey. I hate taking picture ;p

Day 1 of my natural hair journey

Over the past 2 years I’ve been convincing myself to go natural.  Two months ago I saw I a picture of myself 10 years younger and I had basically the same hairstyle.

That did it!! The journey began - last perm was October 27, 2010.

The first 2 months were great – not a problem. I begin to get frustrated with my hair. Rod sets and twist out became a chore – hated it~. Each time I went to my beautician, Ms. D, for a trim, the perm jar was whispering my name. One days I new I would revert if I didn’t so something drastic.

So~ I big chopped…well mini chopped (chicken). Had Ms. D. cut the back and leave the top long. After building up my courage, I finally chopped it all yesterday.

I’m now sporting a STWA (super teenie weenie afro)…kind of~. Wearing a hat because I’m still not over the shock...and it's cold ^_^
